UD Lanzarote faced UD Las Palmas “C” on Wednesday afternoon, one of the teams in the upper area of the standings, recovering the postponed match of the ninth round of the Third Division. The rojillos turned around an adverse score, suffered in the second half and in the final stretch of the match Ayoze Pérez scored the goal with which the Lanzarote team conquered the three points that were at stake.
The first half was marked by equality, although it was the yellow second subsidiary that took the initiative in the game. The locals did not approach the goal defended by Alejandro and the shots went wide of the three posts. The Senegalese Abdoulaye Ba, in his first game as a starter, could have put UD Lanzarote ahead, not defining in the one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
Around the half hour, UD Las Palmas “C” took the lead on the scoreboard, after the referee signaled a rigorous penalty and Pipo transformed it. The reaction of UD Lanzarote was immediate, achieving the tie just three minutes later. A cross from the right wing was extended by Abdoulaye Ba inside the area and Rodri arriving in the second line with a crossed shot put the equalizer.
The Lanzarote team could have gone to the break with an advantage on the scoreboard. After a corner kick, the ball was left dead inside the area and the shot was taken out by a defender under the posts. A first half that concluded with a free kick from UD Las Palmas “C” that was lost over the crossbar.
The second half began with an equal first ten minutes, accentuating the dominance of the yellow subsidiary as the minutes passed. UD Las Palmas “C” was locking the rojillos in their field of play, being fundamental the good defensive order of UD Lanzarote to prevent the rival from generating clear dangerous chances. Only highlight a shot from the front that Alejandro stopped without problems and a cross that the goalkeeper cleared with the tip of his fingers to avoid the shot.
In the final stretch of the match, a header from Keita was taken out from below by goalkeeper Javier Cendón. It would be the prelude to the second visiting goal and that would arrive in the 89th minute. Miguel Gómez was in charge of executing a corner kick, the ball was collected by Giovanni at the far post and put it at the penalty spot for Ayoze Pérez to send it to the back of the net.
Despite the attempts of UD Las Palmas “C” the score would not move again, conquering UD Lanzarote a new victory, the second consecutive away. Three points that allow the rojillo team to climb to fifth position and leave the dangerous area. Next Sunday new league commitment, receiving UD San Fernando at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
