Unión Deportiva Lanzarote closed the signing of midfielder Jotha on Monday, a player who has been training with the first team throughout the preseason. The player signed the federation license hours before the deadline for registering players for the 2008-2009 season closed.
Jonathan Pérez Olivero, "Jotha", is a 26-year-old midfielder who made his debut in the First Division with Real Madrid. Previously he trained at UD Lanzarote, a team in which he coincided with many of those who will be his teammates this season. He later played for UD Las Palmas and, after his time at Real Madrid B, defended the colors of Ponferradina, Universidad de Las Palmas and Orientación Marítima.
Jotha is quite happy about his signing for UD Lanzarote and comments that he has "an incredible desire to play football again".
Regarding his fitness, the player stated that "better than I expected at this point and that I feel much better every time and especially with spark."
This Monday the deadline for registering new players closed at 00:00 hours, something that affects all clubs in the national category. Jotha signed his federation license on Monday, which links him to the club with a contract until the end of the season.
UD Lanzarote has completed 21 federation licenses for the 2008-2009 season and therefore leaves one free license of the 22 that can be occupied. A vacant position that will be filled in the future.
