History has left countless good moments in the minds of UD Lanzarote fans, including the first promotion to Segunda División B. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of that feat and many still remember that league in which the Rojillos had to face UD Las Palmas B, UD Orotava and UD Telde. With two defeats and four victories, the long-awaited promotion was achieved.
The Club has decided to pay tribute to the players who defended the Rojilla shirt in that historic season by giving several players from that team the opportunity to take the honorary kick-off on Sunday in the match against CD Mensajero. For various reasons, not all players will be able to be at the Lanzarote Sports City, but they will be named by loudspeaker so that everyone remembers that historic team.
The regular season will end with this Sunday's match, a victory for the team led by Maxi Barrera will make them runner-up in the League, so it is expected that the Rojillo fans will once again dress up the stands of the Sports City to start a nice play-off. From 10:00 hrs. the ticket offices will be open, although the club reminds all those fans who do not want to queue at the ticket office, they can be purchased on Friday from 18:00 to 20:00 hrs at the club's headquarters, located at Calle El Isleño, 4, Arrecife.
