After having secured passage to the final by defeating CD Teguise on Friday afternoon, CD Orientación Marítima won the first pre-season tournament by defeating UD Lanzarote by three goals to one in the final of the "XVI Juan Morales Cáceres Memorial" which was played on Saturday afternoon at the Los Volcanes Municipal Stadium in Tinajo. The red-and-whites had managed to play the final after disposing of the tournament's opening match on Thursday afternoon by one goal to four against the organizers of CD Tinajo Chevrolet.

The first goal for Marítima was scored by Aridane, who was close to joining UD Lanzarote last month, "Ari" managed to open the scoring by finishing off a free kick taken by former red-and-white player Rubén Rodríguez.

UD Lanzarote managed to equalize with the same strategy just before half-time, Maciot Dévora launched a free kick that Jaba only had to flick to send it into the back of the net defended by Roberto, thus tying the score in Tinajo.

When everything indicated that both teams would go to the break with a draw on the scoreboard, a favorable foul arrived for Machín's team, the one in charge of launching it was Francis Falcón who was met by the intervention of Marino who sent the ball to the crossbar, but an opportune Pedro Cruz managed to put Marítima ahead, making it 2-1 on the scoreboard. With this result, the match would reach half-time with everything to be decided in the second half.

In the continuation, UD Lanzarote had opportunities from Sarasúa and Maciot Dévora that did not come to fruition.

The advantage continued to be small for Machín's team, who were about to score the first tournament of the pre-season, and the first victory against UD Lanzarot. The last word was said by David Martín in the launch of a free kick from the wing that ended up going directly into the back of the net defended by his former teammate Marino. With that goal, the player from CD Teguise sealed the final with a victory by three goals to one favorable to CD Orientación Marítima. Now both teams will meet again on the field in the capital's San Ginés Tournament.

CD Teguise won by the same number of goals in the match prior to the final, in which the third place was decided against CD Tinajo Chevrolet. The Villa team did not take long to resolve with goals from Cristo, José María and Güi who took a 0-3 lead on the scoreboard before the first half hour of play. The locals' goal was scored by Iván from a penalty 6 minutes before half-time.
