The Quemao Class has started this Thursday and the expected conditions have not disappointed, with incredible waves and a great level from all the participants.
Surfers and bodyboarders have left impressive performances in this first part of the day, with French bodyboarder Pier Louis Costes as the protagonist by getting a wave of 10 points out of 10. He commented that "this wave is undoubtedly the best I have ever gotten in Lanzarote."
Local bodyboarder Pablo Lecouey also stood out. Although he didn't start his series very strong, he knew how to take advantage of these conditions by getting two incredible waves at the end with 9.75 and 9.35 points out of 10.
For their part, the surfers have not been left behind, and we have seen brutal performances such as that of the Basque Natxo González, who in his first wave achieved a 9.75 out of 10, the highest in the category so far. "I was lucky enough to catch a brutal wave, this is being one of the most beautiful Quemaos I have seen in my career competing here," he commented.
Local surfer Manuel Lezcano also stood out, who expressed how every year "I enter the water with more desire, but also with more pressure to compete at home." He stated that it is a pride to be able to compete in his wave and on his island, and that he will continue fighting to reach the final.
The event presented by Billabong will continue this Friday the 31st at 8:00 a.m., with conditions that guarantee even more epic performances.
