The Lanzarote native Hecher Sosa, known sportingly as El Guanche Warrior, will debut on the night of this Saturday, March 15, in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the largest company of mixed martial arts in the world, presided over by Dana White.

The fight will take place after Sosa fulfilled his great dream of entering the UFC after defeating fighter Mackson Lee in Dana White's Contender Series last September 2025. The fighter from Lanzarote, known as El Guanche Warrior, arrived at that fight with an enormous emotional weight after losing his father just two days before the fight.

In his first fight in this octagon, Sosa will fight in UFC Vegas 114 against the Brazilian Luan Larceda in his debut. In the bantamweight category, the conejero will fight Lacerda in the preliminary card bouts, with four other fights. Sosa's debut can be seen starting at 10:00 PM on HBO Max.

According to Lanzarote Deportiva, this Saturday's fight has also had "an unexpected component in its preparation," since Lacerda was actually scheduled to face the Japanese Rinya Nakamura, but after the Japanese fighter's withdrawal, the confrontation gave the opportunity to the fighter from Lanzarote. Despite having had to prepare for the fight hastily, Hecher arrives with confidence and the intention of seeking a victory by KO.
