The incursion of calima that is affecting Lanzarote and La Graciosa since this Thursday is leaving in both islands an air quality "unfavorable", which can cause health problems, especially to those people who suffer from respiratory diseases.
The meters in Arrecife, Costa Teguise and Las Caletas reveal the presence of microparticles less than 10 micrometers, which is causing the air quality to be "unfavorable", according to data from the Government of the Canary Islands.
In the case of the city of Arrecife, the air quality due to the presence of particles less than 2.5 micrometers is "regular".
Given this situation, it is recommended to risk groups, sensitive people but also to the general population to reduce all outdoor activities, move them indoors or postpone them until air quality is advisable and breathable.
It will not be until Sunday when the haze decreases and the air quality returns to be good or reasonably good.
Therefore, it is recommended to people sensitive to this type of episodes -such as children, the elderly, and people with chronic respiratory or cardiovascular diseases- the following measures:
-Do not go out into the street and keep doors and windows of the houses closed.
-Perform the cleaning of the surfaces with the dust with damp cloths.
-Stay in humid environments and hydrate oneself.
-Do not perform physical exercises outside.
-In case of worsening respiratory symptoms call 1-1-2.
