Luis E. Ferrer and Pedro Padrón, attracted by the adventure, faced an authentic immersion in Aragonese territory with the Fiat Panda 4x4, which surprised them with the variety of its landscapes.
The first stage was "very hard" for the rabbit farmers, with a lot of dust, different scenarios and where efficient and careful driving with the mechanics was a guarantee of success of the 194 kilometers that separated the capital of the Ebro from the camp.
The second stage, which was initially presented as a Marathon stage, passed without mechanical problems, but was difficult to drive due to the dust and the fact that the tracks were very difficult to overtake. At the end of the day there was time for enjoyment in the camp, where the luckiest relaxed in the canteen area, while those with mechanical problems had to solve them in the assistance area.
The third stage of the Panda Raid Baja 800 came to demonstrate how hard it was for the Lanzarote team. A route full of diverse landscapes awaited them with canyons, cobbled climbs, roads with fesh-fesh and the dreaded river crossings, which ultimately caused the breakage of a shock absorber. This situation led the rabbit farmers to the disappointment of being able to be well in a general classification, but with the luck and desire to have been able to repair the car and that it was ready for the departure the next day.
After a night spent in the rain, the teams faced the last stage on the tracks of Zaragoza, Teruel and Soria, in a day full of challenges, as the water and mud put the Pandas to the test, who had to face huge puddles that they had to cross. This situation meant that it was the hardest test to overcome and finish, with the illusion of the Lanzarote team to be able to enter the finish line in time, due to the fact that many participants had to use the sling, to be rescued from the quagmire in an infernal stage. It is there where the sporting spirit arises, helping each other between teams, towing each other to get those who are stuck out.
The Lanzarote team puts an end to Panda Raid Baja 800. "It has been a year that things have not gone as planned, but we will have the consolation that the new edition Panda Raid in Morocco is practically around the corner, and Lanzarote will leave its mark", says Pedro Padrón.
