The Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Department of Sports, held last week the introductory days to Paralympic sports, held at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
The Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, was present at the conference and said that it is a project "that will be repeated in the coming years." "These are days of learning and inclusion, very necessary for all people to practice sports on the island", added Monzón.
The conference was aimed at teachers, masters and leisure monitors, free time, and people linked to sports with people with disabilities. The courses were taught by the coordinator of Paralympic relay of the Canary Islands, Mariona Masdemont; the graduate in INEFC and specialized in High Performance Sports, Esther Noguera; and the graduate in INEFC, Irma Cubilles.
The three speakers worked, in a coordinated and intertwined way, to train and inform the monitors, teachers and masters who want to know more about inclusion, sports and education in the Paralympic modality.
"These have been very enriching days, both for the speakers and for the dozens of professionals who wanted to know more about inclusive sports," says Monzón, who emphasizes that these are days "that have come to be a fixed event in the island's sports calendar."
