Last Wednesday, all categories of the Guadarfía - Arrecife Wrestling Club were presented at the Lanzarote Sports City, before about 250 fans, in an act in which the fighters of both the Canarian wrestling and Olympic wrestling modalities, Benjamin, Alevines, children, cadets, youth, women and senior, jumped into the arena.
The event was attended by the president of the Insular Federation of Canarian Wrestling in Lanzarote, Leandro Morales, the sports councilor of the Arrecife City Council, José Montelongo and the sports advisor of the Cabildo Insular of Lanzarote, Manuel Cabrera, who were distinguished by the club for their collaboration.
The Guadarfía - Arrecife Wrestling Club already has about 70 students, covering all ages, from the youngest with 4 or 5 years to the elderly. This presentation was very emotional, as it was possible to see the fruit of the work of the previous three years.
During the act, the club's outstanding fighter, Haridian González, who is already in the High Performance Center of Madrid, was remembered. The club also commented on the need to get more institutional support so that this cultural, sports and social project can continue to grow.
After the presentation, a friendly fight was held between the Guadarfía - Arrecife Wrestling Club, senior category, and the Lanzarote Selection of youth category. This is precisely the great novelty for this season, the senior amateur team, which will be rolling during this year with the aim of entering the official competition if economic support arrives.
The fight had a result of C.L. Guadarfía 12 - Lanzarote Selection 8, where the "C" tip of Guadarfia, Acaymo Curbelo, and the reinforcement for this fight, Agustín Mayor, of C.L. Llano del Moro of Tenerife.
