Sixteen years after its last celebration on March 27, 2007, the Cabildo of Lanzarote recovers what was the Lanzarote Sports Gala, it does so under the name of Gala Highlights of Lanzarote Sports 2022. The first edition of this new era will be held next Monday, March 13 at the Farmer's Monument, where all the previous ones were held.

In this call, "which we hope will have annual continuity", the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, highlights that "we are going to underline the work of clubs, associations and athletes, who have been an outstanding reference for the people of Lanzarote during the past year, recognizing with these distinctions the effort and the results that usually accompany sports challenges when we multiply our dedication and dedication."

On this occasion, the jury has designated athletes from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife for two of the 2022 awards. In the category that awards "The best or best outstanding athletes", both in national and international events, the recognition has been for the RCNA sailors, Alfredo González González and Cristian Sánchez Barreto, world champions of the Snipe class. The award "To the person or entity that has stood out in the promotion of sport" has gone to CD Pingüinos Arrecife – RCNA, which won the bronze medal in the tests of the Spanish Children's Artistic Swimming Championship.

"Two well-deserved distinctions for RCNA athletes who continue to expand the Club's sports record", they point out from the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
