Teguise hosts for the first time an electronic sports competition that has been gaining popularity in recent years within the video game industry. Esports Teguise Competition 2023 will be held for the first time in Costa Teguise next Friday, February 10 at 5:00 p.m. at the Civic Center located at the end of Fragata Street.
The municipality thus joins the network of esports tournaments together with Arrecife, Yaiza and Tinajo, forming part of the island competition in which the best players in Lanzarote will be decided. This new event in Costa Teguise will host three video game tournaments; Clash Royale (Mobile), Fifa 23 (PlayStation 5), and Tekken 7 (Playstation 4), whose winners will receive 100 euros in prizes and the title of "Best Player of the municipality of Teguise”, representing Teguise in the Esports Lanzarote Competition.
The Esports Teguise Competition will be accompanied by educational and training talks that aim to create an ecosystem of values within the esports industry in the Canary Islands. In this sense, Nira Santana will give an educational talk on the role of women in esports in the municipality's educational centers on Friday; Yuney, from the platform Las chicas también juegan, with the talk eSports: develop yourself as a professional, challenge or reality?; and the content creator Martindipity, whose talk will be about “Posts and content strategies for Instagram”.
Registrations for the Esports Teguise Competition, which is organized by the Department of Youth of the Teguise City Council, with the production of Boncho Producciones and the collaboration of Toshigame, can be made on this website.
