San Bartolomé CF scored an important victory this past weekend after defeating CD Buzanada 0-2 at Clementina Bello, in a direct duel for permanence in the Third Federation. With this triumph, the batatero team chains its second consecutive victory as a visitor and reinforces its position outside the relegation zone.
The match began with a script of great equality, without clear chances in the early stages, in a match where both teams sought to minimize errors. It was in the middle of the first half when San Bartolomé managed to take the lead. Rayco, who returned to the club that saw him grow and in one of his first interventions of the season, precisely headed a cross and sent the ball close to the post, making the local goalkeeper's intervention impossible.
After the goal, CD Buzanada took a step forward, insistently pressing the batatero team's area. The clearest chance for the locals came with a close-range shot that Agoney thwarted with a great intervention with his foot. Despite the Tenerife siege in the final minutes of the first act, San Bartolomé maintained its defensive firmness and managed to reach halftime with the advantage on the scoreboard.
In the second half, the match regained the dynamics of the first half, with both teams trying to impose their rhythm without generating great chances. However, in the 60th minute, the scorer Alex Yunes found the necessary space to connect a powerful shot from outside the area. The ball hit the post before sneaking into the goal, signing the 0-2 and bringing San Bartolomé closer to victory.
With the score in their favor, the team led by José Labrador knew how to manage the match and cooled down the pace of the game, preventing CD Buzanada from reacting. The local team tried to reduce the difference with some isolated arrivals, but without generating too much danger on Agoney's goal.
With this victory, San Bartolomé adds three vital points in their fight for permanence and confidently faces their next match against CD Santa Úrsula, another key duel at the Municipal Pedro Espinosa "Colón" next Saturday. The batatero team will seek to prolong its good streak and consolidate its position in the standings.
