Roberto Aguilar and Selma Härd win the César Manrique Optimist Trophy

70 participants took part in the different groups with representation of local, national and international sailors

70 participants took part in the different groups of the César Manrique Optimist Trophy, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, with representation of local, national and international athletes from Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland and France.

At the national level, the Benalmádena Maritime Yacht Club and the Real Club Náutico de Adra were represented. The Lanzarote participation was made up of 25 sailors from the 4 Vientos Yacht Club and 24 from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, of which 10 from group C who started last summer and showed their progress at the hands of the RCNA trainers. 

After the third and last day, Roberto Aguilar Medina from the Benalmádena Maritime Yacht Club in the Men's category and the Swedish Selma Härd among the girls were proclaimed absolute winners.

On the last day of Sunday, two races were held in each of the three groups, completing 8 in groups A and B and 6 in C.

The day was fruitful for Miguel Álvarez of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, who with a victory and a second place closed his participation, which led him to occupy eighth place overall. The second test was scored by the 4 Vientos sailor Jorge Betancort, who would be tenth.

The Italian Niccoló Pulito (2nd and 3rd) prevailed in both rounds against Roberto Aguilar (3rd and 5th) in the fight for the lead, but not enough to snatch the first place from the Malaga native. Far from his performance in previous days, the Irishman Rocco Wright (15th and 13th) could not keep up with the Spanish and Italian. Aguilar, Pulito and Wright took to the podium to collect the trophies from group A in their first three places, respectively.

To the celebration of the victory in the women's category of the Swedish Selma Härd in group A, Gabriela Cañibano Salvago joined, who was second, finishing third Lola Morillo Fiestas, who achieved her best position in the last race by finishing fourth. Both sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife fleet.

In group B, the sailors from the 4 Vientos Yacht Club dominated, taking the first two absolute positions and the first three in the Women's category. Atteneri García Cobo rounded off her participation with two first places that confirmed the leadership she had held since the first day. She was 16 points ahead of her teammate Ariane Muñoz Herrero. The third place in women's was for Idaira Rodríguez Orts.

Among the boys in B, the victory went to Ayoset Vega Suárez (CR4V), he was accompanied on the podium by Juan Prats López and Fernando Pérez-Utrilla Martín, both from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife racing team.  

The group C was competitive until the end, which had a different leader each day, the young people from RCNA María Hidalgo Negrín started leading, who gave up the lead on the second day to Pedro de Armas. Finally, after adding two first places today, Acaymo Bravo Rodríguez (CR4V) took the final victory. The Men's podium was made up of Acaymo Bravo, Pedro de Armas and Pablo de Eusebio Fontes (RCNA).

The victory in the girls' group C went to Adriana Bravo de Laguna Ferrer (RCNA), followed by Yanelly Bravo Rodríguez (CR4V) and María Hidalgo Negrín from RCNA finished third.

After the completion of the Sunday races, the awards ceremony was held around the pool of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, which was presided over by the president Julio Romero accompanied by the director Juan José Roa and the manager Angelines Silva.
