The Real Casino Club Náutico de Arrecife was in charge of organizing a new edition of the Canary Islands Snipe Class Championship. The bay of Arrecife was the scene of the regional competition in which 11 boats participated. A competition dominated by sailors from Lanzarote. Rayco Tabares and Héctor González were proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands in Snipe.
Five of the six scheduled races could be completed, with a strong wind from the North, which forced the 11 participating crews to work hard. The Canary Islands Snipe Class Championship was attended by boats from Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
The pair formed by Rayco Tabares and Héctor González, representing the Real Casino Club Náutico de Arrecife, scored the partial victory in three of the five races, results that allowed them to be proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands in Snipe. The second place went to Gustavo del Castillo and Felipe Llinares from the Real Casino Club Náutico de Gran Canaria. And third were Alfredo González and Cristian Sánchez.
The competition was also valid for the II Puente de Las Bolas Trophy, with Rayco Tabares winning for the second consecutive year. If he manages to win it in the next edition, he would take the trophy outright.

The bay of Arrecife also hosted the Canary Islands Snipe Championship in the youth category. The main promises of Canarian sailing met, demonstrating their expertise in this sport.
