Arrecife already has a Carnival Queen. Norma Davinia González with the design "Flying to Carnival" is the new Queen of the Arrecife Carnival. A costume designed by Manuel Camejo and representing Grupo SH, was the most valued by the members of the jury. Manuel Camejo had not presented a work to the Arrecife Carnival for 17 years and has returned in the best possible way, taking the triumph in one of the highlights of the Arrecife Carnival.

The third Lady of Honor was Cintia de León Cedrés, a title that was presented by councilor Nayra Callero. The second Lady of Honor went to Itahisa Suárez, an award that was presented by José Montelongo. And the first Lady of Honor of the Carnival Queen was for Magdalena Rodríguez, with Víctor Sanginés being in charge of presenting the title.

The Carnival Queen Election Gala began with an overture that recreated the Viking world, the theme on which this year's carnival in the island's capital is focused. Marta Tabarres, Carnival Queen 2011, left her crown and paraded for the last time on the stage of the Arrecife Fairgrounds. Giving way to the performance of the Comparsa Sur Caliente, a group that has been participating in the festivities for thirteen years.

In the first round of candidates, Itahisa Suárez and Magdalena Rodríguez paraded on stage. The first of the candidates wore the design "Paradise" by Renne Modistos and representing Hi-Visión. For her part, Magdalena Rodríguez wore the fantasy "Mangroves" by Oswaldo Machín and representing Inelcom and electrical installations. The first two candidates gave way to the performance of the Fashion School students.

In the second round, Cintia de León and Norma Davinia González were the two candidates who paraded on stage. Cintia wore the design "Everyone is watching me" by Jaime Romero and representing Tunera Producciones and Bodega La Grieta. Meanwhile, Norma Davinia González wore the fantasy "Flying to Carnival" by Manuel Camejo and representing Grupo SH.

The jury in charge of determining the best design of the night was made up of: Iván Tagliabue (Manager of 7 Camicie Stores), Daniela Rodríguez (Mii Gay Arrecife and Miss Gay Province of Las Palmas), Santi Domínguez (Specialist in Floral Art), Tamara Ramón (Linda de Canarias), Mario Marrero (Makeup artist stylist), Carmen Dolores Montero (Miss Las Palmas 2001) and Iván Vega (Bachelor of Arts). Nita Borges acted as secretary of the jury.

While the jury deliberated, the public was able to enjoy the performance of the conejera Isi Hernández, who performed part of the songs from her latest work. Cristian Vallo, Isi's partner in Madrid, also performed.
