The Christmas Gymnastics Festival comes of age and on Tuesday afternoon the eighteenth edition of this prestigious gymnastics event kicked off. A first section that took place in the Municipal Pavilion of Tías and in which nearly 400 gymnasts from different clubs on the island of Lanzarote participated. Some exhibitions that delighted the hundreds of fans who packed the stands of the sports facility.
The XVIII Christmas Gymnastics Festival kicked off on Tuesday afternoon, with the performance of eight gymnastics clubs. This first section was dedicated to the youngest members of the different clubs and who were able to exhibit everything they had learned in the last months of training.
The event was opened by the members of the Island Sports Service, followed by the Tenesa Sol Rhythmic Gymnastics Club (teams), Capellanía del Yágabo and César Manrique, Colegio Santa María de Los Volcanes (Nazaret), Ayatima Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, Lanzarote Island Gymnastics Center, Amqor Tigotán Artistic Gymnastics Club and Tenesa Sol Rhythmic Gymnastics Club (Blume).
Parallel to the celebration of the XVIII Christmas Gymnastics Festival, the Solidarity Goal is being developed. At the entrance of the Municipal Pavilion of Tías a goal has been installed, in which the people of Lanzarote can show their solidarity with the families most in need on the island. Toys and non-perishable food are collected, and will be distributed by the Social Services departments.
The Christmas Gymnastics Festival continues on Wednesday afternoon, starting at 8:00 p.m., with the celebration of the second section. The Ayatima Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, Tenesa Sol Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and Amqor Tigotán Gymnastics Club, will participate tonight with different age groups.
