On Saturday afternoon, LandBit Lanzarote CICAR Lanzarote visited one of the rivals with the best dynamics of results in recent months, being a tough test for the players led by Samuel Trives. San José Obrero showed its status as leader on the court of Calvo Xiria, dominating the match from the initial whistle and only experiencing some difficulties in the initial minutes of the second half, to end up winning by 29 to 35.

LandBit Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife gained ground from the start of the match, even though it committed unusual mistakes with ball losses in attack. In defense, it was solid, with Javi de la Cruz making three good interventions, and the goals, twice each, from Joel Armas and Miguel Laguna put the score at 0-4, forcing the coach of Calvo Xiria to request the first timeout when barely six minutes had been played.

After the instructions from the bench, Javi Aragón increased the difference with a seven-meter throw and Calvo Xiria took about nine minutes to be able to penetrate the goal of the Lanzarote team. Throughout this first part, LandBit Lanzarote maintained the acquired advantage, and with the result of 13 to 17, the first 30 minutes of play came to an end.

The second half did not start entirely well for the interests of LandBit Lanzarote CICAR Lanzarote, conceding a 4-1 partial in the first four minutes, which forced Samuel Trives to request a timeout (17-18). The income that throughout the first part had been six goals, vanished in a start of period too cold.

The players of LandBit Lanzarote understood what their coach was asking of them, and did not allow the comeback of Calvo Xiria. After the instructions from the bench, Joel Armas culminated two quick counterattacks to regain ground (17-20). Before the equator of the second part, the goals of Marcos Santiago, Álvaro Torres and Acoidán Martín, served to put the 18 to 26, requesting the local coach a new timeout.

Until the end of the match, LandBit Lanzarote CICAR Lanzarote managed the advantage that had been acquired, and the team arrived quite fresh to the final minutes thanks to the continuous rotations made from the bench. With the score of 29 to 35, the match came to an end.

The victory allows LandBit Lanzarote CICAR Lanzarote to consolidate its leadership in the First National Men's League, now having a four-point advantage over SD Teucro and five over OAR Coruña, a team that fell this day on the court of Automanía Luceros. The competition takes a week of rest, and will return on Saturday, March 23 with the match against Sweepend Culleredo.
