The Unión Norte Wrestling Club became the second finalist of the XXVII Isla de Lanzarote Canarian Wrestling Tournament. The northerners asserted their status as champions of the regular league and prevailed by 12 to 11 against CL Tinajo in the return leg of the semi-finals. The Tinajo team made their defeat very expensive and put CL Unión Norte against the ropes. Pedro Hernández had to work hard to give the victory to the northerners.

The confrontation began with the dominance of CL Unión Norte. The youth players Manuel Méndez, Rubén Niz and Saúl Romero, were in charge of putting the first points on the scoreboard. The team led by José "Camurria" had to put the Highlighted "C" Marcial Viñoly on the sand, being in charge of balancing the fight. From that moment on, equality took over the fight.

Francis Aisa "Piraña" surpassed Juan Antonio Ramírez in the minute's grab and also managed to beat Toño Betancort. For his part, Tinajero Moisés Olivero defeated Juan Curbelo, after a tie in fights between them. The captain of Unión Norte, David Romero, and David Cabrera "El Bola", were mutually eliminated after several separations.

As has been happening throughout the season, palmero Pedro Hernández had to come to the rescue of CL Unión Norte and again did not fail. With the score of 9 to 11 in favor of the Tinajo team, Pedro Hernández faced Andrés Carmelo Guillén. The first grab between the two went in favor of Pedro, the second concluded in a separation and the third would be in favor of the Unión Norte wrestler.

His next rival was Francis Aisa "Piraña" and he had many more difficulties in scoring the point that was at stake. The first two grabs between the two ended in separations, although the Tinajo wrestler accumulated three warnings for two of Pedro. In the third grab, Francis Aisa was warned again and was eliminated. The score was tied at eleven.

In the last grab of the night, Pedro Hernández and Marcial Viñoly faced each other. Marcial Viñoly tried everything, finding a rival who defended himself from all the attacks of the Tinajero wrestler. The first two grabs ended in separations and in the third Pedro Hernández took advantage of an attack by Marcial Viñoly to counterattack and bring his rival to the ground. Pedro put the definitive 12 to 11 on the scoreboard.

The wrestlers of CL Unión Norte dedicated the victory and the qualification for the final to their president, Vicente Hernández, who passed away very recently. The northern wrestlers pointed to the sky and more than one shed tears in this emotional tribute.

The final of the XXVII Isla de Lanzarote Canarian Wrestling Tournament will be played by CL Unión Norte and CLD Tías. A final that will be played on Friday, February 3 at the Ulpiano Rodríguez arena in Tías starting at 9:00 p.m. A fight that will be offered live through Dos de Televisión Canaria.
