This Thursday has started the countdown for the celebration of the 'XLIV Rallye Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote', with the presentation of the event at the Castillo de San José de Arrecife, the island capital that returns to be the headquarters of the race in the area of the Sports City.

The 'CD. Evesport' presented the details of a rally that once again has great institutional support from the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the Arrecife City Council and the rest of the municipalities through which the route passes and the different timed sections will be held, from the afternoon and evening of Friday, November 24 and the day of Saturday, November 25.

The event was supported by the presence of numerous councilors from almost all the municipalities of Lanzarote, the Minister of Sports of the Cabildo, Juan Monzón; the vice president of the first island institution, Jacobo Medina; the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León; and the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort. On behalf of the main sponsor 'Orvecame' and 'CICAR' attended Pello Cabrera, as well as Juan Carlos González from 'BP Lanzarote'. And on the sports side, Miguel Angel Domínguez as president of the 'FALP' and Víctor Rodríguez as the top person in charge of the organization of the rally.

The event was closed by Betancort, who summarized the important support of the institution he chairs, arguing that "these events are fundamental for the projection and profitability of sports tourism", also showing his willingness "to promote Lanzarote as a platform for launching brands and athletes from the world of motorsport".

For his part, the mayor recalled that "Arrecife commemorates this year the 225th anniversary of its foundation and we are pleased that this edition passes through our city. The fans will appreciate it and will surely witness it with emotion." He also added that "there is love for motorsport and we must make it possible for the conejera fans to see them on the island, without having to go abroad."

From the organization and the institutions there was great recognition of the work of the 'Grupo Cabrera Medina' supporting motorsport in the Canary Islands and that has in this rally the "home race".

This year the main novelty is that the headquarters of the Rallye Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote will be moved to the heart of Arrecife, to the Rambla Medular and the areas adjacent to the Sports City and the new Open Mall shopping center. All the information of the race, sections and schedules can be consulted on the web VMRM. Next Wednesday, November 22, the official list of participants will be published, which this Thursday closed the registration period, already counting with about 50 teams. And on Friday from noon the activity begins in Arrecife and at night the first two night sections.

Highlight the presence of a large group of favorites led by Enrique Cruz (Ford Fiesta Rally2), Miguel Suárez and Yeray Lemes (Citroen C3 Rally2), Jan Cerny (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), Toñín Suárez and Oliver Rodríguez (Porsche 911 GT3). All candidates for the victory of this edition and exhausting their last possibilities to try to win one of the titles in dispute, especially in the CCRA.

The regional rally title could be decided here, but we have to wait for the results that this weekend will be given in the postponed 'Isla de Tenerife'. It will also be the last event of the 'BP Rally Championship of Las Palmas' and the 'Lanzarote Island Championship', with many titles at stake, as well as several promotional cups at stake, such as the 'Sport&You Canarias'.

With this presentation has been unveiled the poster announcing the 44th edition of the emblematic rally of Lanzarote, designed by Javier Martín, marketing director of the 'Grupo Cabrera Medina'.
