CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen achieved victory this Sunday at the Nuevo Polideportivo Municipal de Pola de Siero against Siero Deportivo Balonmano (26-32), in a match corresponding to the fifteenth day of Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division.
The "conejeras" (female rabbit keepers) entered somewhat cold into a match that remained tied until the final minutes of the first half, at which point they achieved their first advantages (10-13, minute 25). From those moments on, an equality prevailed that did not quite convince the "conejero" coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes, who, despite being ahead on the scoreboard (22-28, minute 50), called a timeout with ten minutes remaining. The match resembled the first leg, with "conejero" dominance on the scoreboard but without excessive differences.
In the end, the Tiñoseras, still unconvincing, were able to bring a new victory to Lanzarote (26-32). The top scorers in the Tiñosera ranks were Mary Sánchez and Keyla Hernández with eight goals each, well accompanied by the five goals scored by Suely Pinto Spencer.
With this victory, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen remains in second position in the standings with twenty-five points in fifteen rounds, three behind the leader San José, who visits the Municipal de Tías on Wednesday, tied on points with Rodríguez Cleba.
For the Tiñosero coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes, the match in Asturian lands "was a rather weak match, we were not with the appropriate intensity in defense and it was difficult for us to get ahead on the scoreboard. We were not brilliant in attack either and once we got a lead of 6-7 goals, we were exchanging goals, the only positive thing was the two points. If we want to aspire to something more, we have to change the image we have given in today's match...if not, we will have a difficult victory against San José on Wednesday".
