CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen managed to maintain its unbeaten record this season after defeating Lavadores Vigo (27-22) in the fourth matchday of Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division, which took place in the Lanzarote Sports City.

The victory of the aurinegro team was forged as the minutes passed. The Vigo team, with Ana Gil in command, kept up the pace until almost halftime (9-9, min. 25). At that moment, a spectacular Cristina Mazaira appeared, who grew in stature and achieved a great series of interventions. This, added to the numerous turnovers by the Vigo team, marked a turning point in the match, with the locals reaching halftime with an advantage (12-9). From then on, everything became uphill for the Galicians. Secure goal with Mazaira, forceful defense, hesitant Vigo attack, which led the Tías team to a ten-goal advantage and the Galicians to give the sensation of having definitively given up (23-13, min. 50).

The Tías coach, Juanmi Pérez, distributed minutes to the less usual players, even having all the youth players on the court of the Sports City except for Lucía Betancort, the veteran steering the ship of the small great warriors in the Silver Honor Division. With the girls from the house on the court, Lavadores would narrow the gap at the end of the match, but everything was already decided.

Lucía López, with eight goals, was the top scorer for the Vigo team, a dagger on the left throughout the match but very alone in the Galician offense. With the absence of the Paraguayan internationals, Mónica Cabrera, with six goals for the aurinegras, became the top scorer for Tías, well accompanied in the attack by the goals of two other youth players, Lucía Olivier and Romina Machín, both with five goals.

With this victory, the Lanzarote team shares the first position in the table with three other teams, all of them with six points, but the aurinegras with one less match played. The other teams that lead the group are Valladolid, Meaño, and Carballal.

In the fifth matchday of the league, Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen faces precisely one of the powerhouses of the group, Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid. It will be next Saturday, October 15, at 6:00 p.m., in the Rondilla Sports Hall of the capital of Valladolid.
