Painful defeat for CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen against AD Carballal (25-24), which precedes the decisive match in Tías against Rodríguez Cleba.
CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen stood up during the first minutes of the match, even having a slight advantage on the scoreboard (7-9, min.25) but the Galicians managed a four-to-zero partial to close the first half, giving them the first advantage (12-9, min. 30).
The second half was also full of ups and downs, the Tiñoseras rowed until they took the lead with ten minutes to go (19-20, min. 50) but a new partial from the Galicians decided the match in their favor, in a final stretch that the Tiñoseras will have to forget to face the match against Rodríguez Cleba with guarantees.
The two negative endings show that the conguera team was running out of strength at the end of each period, plagued by injuries. Atte did not travel at the last minute due to illness, Neus dislocated a finger in the eighth minute of the first half and Rosa received a blow to the cervicals and fainted with eight minutes to go, without major consequences in the end.
In the offensive facet, Keyla Hernández was the most successful with seven goals in the Galician goal. In the Galician team, the top scorer of the match was María Pereira.
For the Tiñosera coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes, it was a "match that we had previously cataloged as complicated and where many circumstances occurred that meant that we did not achieve victory. We started very well in defense but in attack we were not able to score. Many losses and many failed shots. Against Carballal's open defense we couldn't find clear solutions."
Lemes reiterated that "we were good in defense but nine goals in the first half were a burden. The second half was very good at the beginning, but in the end we had two exclusions, which diminished us. And we did not take advantage of their two exclusions in minute 26. We didn't play the last action well and we rushed and they took advantage of it. We have no choice but to work and think about the next game, which will be fundamental. We must recover mentally and physically, we have no other choice," concluded the Tiñosero coach.
Rodríguez Cleba, the next rival of Puerto del Carmen, also lost this week at home against Oviedo Women's Handball (23-28). The match will serve to decide who faces the last stretch of the league with greater possibilities of staying in second place and thus get a place to fight for promotion.
