Borja Pérez, bronze medal at the European MMA Championship

The young athlete from Conejero attended this competition after being proclaimed champion of Spain for the second time

Borja Pérez recently won the bronze medal at the IMMAF European Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship held in Italy.

Pérez, a member of the Arrecife club, TAZ Lanzarote, was called up by the Spanish national team to participate in the European Championship after winning the Spanish Championship for the second time.

During his journey in the tournament, he reached the semifinals after defeating the German Tuan Phan Duc in the quarterfinals, and on this occasion he gave up the victory against the Belgian Movsar Ibraigmov. Without a doubt, a third place that demonstrates the quality of the young athlete and the work of Taz Lanzarote.

This Thursday he was received by the mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez: "It is a pride for me as mayor of Arrecife, and for the city as a whole, to have athletes of this level, who are capable of taking the name of the municipality throughout the world".

The young fighter received a gift granted by the City Council in recognition of his performance, both during the European Championship and during his career. He also received the best of luck for his upcoming sports commitments, which include the World Championship, scheduled for the beginning of next year.
