At 6 in the morning, the fourth edition of the Ultratrail Lanzarote 2014 began on La Garita Beach (Arrieta), the mountain race that crosses the island from north to south through the different trails. The main race had a route of 84 kilometers and was attended by about thirty runners. The Ultratrail Lanzarote 2014 was completed with modalities for all runners, with about 250 who were encouraged to participate in this adventure. Alberto Peláez fulfilled the predictions, crossing the finish line in first place and winning his third victory in the Ultratrail Lanzarote.
From the beginning of the race, Alberto Peláez set a strong pace at the head of the race and was selecting the group of runners who could face him in this fourth edition. In the ascents he would begin to mark the first considerable differences and soon he would be left alone. The excitement was in knowing the second and third classified. Fran Godoy with the passage of kilometers was consolidating in the second position and more open was the third place on the podium.
Alberto Peláez, member of Be Paleorunners, crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 7 hours, 45 minutes and 12 seconds. The second place overall went to Fran Godoy (Be Paleorunners), entering the finish line located in Marina Rubicón more than 31 minutes from the first classified (8:16:21). The podium was completed with the third place of the Estonian Rait Ratasepp (8:35:15).

The second most important race was the "Trail Marathon" with a route of 42 kilometers and in which the participants started from the rear area of the Ermita de Mancha Blanca (Tinajo). The victory in this modality was for Miguel Guerra, who crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours, 35 minutes and 11 seconds. Alejandro Abadía (3:41:37) and Juan Carlos Concepción (3:46:56) completed the podium of the "Trail Marathon".
In the women's category, the victory went to Ana Belén Ruiz, member of the Haría Trail Team, reaching the finish line with a time of 5 hours, 45 minutes and 33 seconds. Sue Fugle would be the second classified in this category.
Jachinson Hernández and Suso Albar, winners of the "MediaTrail" and "MiniTrail"
The Ultratrail Lanzarote 2014 had modalities for all athletes, adapting the routes to the characteristics of the runners. Very fast was the "MiniTrail" category with a route of 13 kilometers and a half. The victory went to Suso Albar (57:11), who was just four seconds ahead of Juan Manuel Morales (57:15). The third place went to Juan Carlos Benasco. In women, the triumph of this modality was for Sarah Erickson, imposing herself on Nicki Dennis and Natividad Martín, who completed the first three positions of the podium.
The "MediaTrail" category was dominated by Jachinson Hernández, a runner who in previous editions has also topped the first places in the general classification. The member of the Island Sport team crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 25 seconds. Alberto García (2:13:34) and Juan José Batista (2:13:56) entered the finish line as second and third classified respectively.
Belinda Guillén, member of the Helly Hansen Trail Team, was the winner of the "MediaTrail" modality, with a time of 2 hours and 29 minutes. Sabine Wittig (2:35:27) was the second classified and Patricia Hernández (4:39:30) would be third.
Saturday has been an intense day for the participants and organizers of the Ultratrail Lanzarote 2014, with many hours of work and great sacrifice. The awards ceremony of the Ultratrail Lanzarote 2014 will take place on Sunday morning in the Marina Rubicón Sports Port. An act scheduled for 11:30 hours.
