Oscar's goal after fifteen seconds of play was more than enough for the bottom team of the Third Division to defeat UD Lanzarote on Saturday morning. A triumph that allows CD Vera to maintain the hope of fighting to save the category and a defeat that leaves UD Lanzarote in no man's land in the standings. The red team did not react to the early goal conceded and barely created danger on the CD Vera goal.
CD Vera only took 15 seconds to take the lead and that would ultimately be the winning goal for the Tenerife team. A good cross from Dani was used by Oscar to beat Agoney with a mid-height shot. UD Lanzarote tried to react with a shot from Yaco that would be stopped by local goalkeeper José next to the base of the post.
As the minutes passed, CD Vera would begin to control the ball, against a UD Lanzarote that was not capable of imposing its law in the center of the field. The locals had up to four chances to increase the differences on the scoreboard. Jorge had a double chance, preceded by the attacking actions enjoyed by Dani and Lele, all of them repelled by goalkeeper Agoney. With the score at 1 to 0, the first 45 minutes would come to an end.
The second half would begin with a chance for UD Lanzarote. A shot from Jotha went wide and did not find the three posts of the goal defended by José. In the 4th minute of the restart, CD Vera responded. A good combination between Lele and Oscar ended with a shot from Oscar that was stopped again by the UD Lanzarote goalkeeper. Minutes later, Agoney rejected a shot from Dani.
In the 65th minute of the match, César, a CD Vera player, was injured. Given the seriousness of the injury suffered by the local player, it was decided to request an ambulance that never appeared at the Salvador Ledesma. At the conclusion of the match, the player was transferred to a medical center in a private car. César was lying on one of the sides for almost 30 minutes waiting for the arrival of the paramedics who had been called.
That was not the only incident that the match suffered in this second half. Adolfo Pérez, coach of UD Lanzarote, watched a good part of the second half from the stands. The rojillo coach was not sent off, but directly communicated to the referee that he was leaving the bench as he was not satisfied with the performance that the referee of the match was starring in.
UD Lanzarote was shown as a harmless team, not being able to harm the last classified of the Canarian group of the Third Division. A shot from Yaco and a shot from Jotha were the timid arrivals that the Lanzarote team had in this second half. In the final stretch of the match, CD Vera had two opportunities to increase the differences on the scoreboard. Jorge launched a free kick outside the three posts and Oscar headed a good cross from Lele onto the crossbar.
With the score at 1 to 0, the match would come to an end. Oscar's goal after 15 seconds of play was more than enough for CD Vera to take the three points that were at stake.
