A total of 151 students from the Sixth grade of Primary Education of the 'CEIP' of Tías have received during the months of October and November informative talks on mental health promoted by the City Council through the Department of Health and the 'Adsis Foundation'.

According to the Educational and Therapeutic Center 'Vocalia', responsible for teaching the sessions, “there has been good participation from the students, who have been able to share experiences and ask questions with the aim of being able to apply what they have learned in their daily lives”.

The Councilor for Health, Laura Callero, recalls that this initiative is determined through the 'Spanish Health Promotion Strategy' to which the Tías City Council belongs through its council and the community strategy 'Conecta Tías'.

In fact, the talks have been given both in the schools Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, Tías, Concepción Rodríguez Artiles, Puerto del Carmen, and La Asomada-Mácher, as well as at the headquarters of 'Conecta Tías', located at Calle César Manrique, 37, Puerto del Carmen. On Monday, November 20, a talk will be offered to families at the 'CEIP La Asomada-Mácher'

Not only schoolchildren, but also families, have received this training, which has focused on mental health, emotional management, prevention of techno-addictions, decision-making and social skills, strengthening self-esteem, health education and mental health care.

The objective is for young people to assume the task of working for and for health, a task that should be extended to the whole of society, especially to the different communities that comprise it and to the families themselves.
