Throughout this term, the Cabildo and the town councils of Tías and San Bartolomé have been in good hands with socialist governments and will be in good hands again after the elections this Sunday. I want the same for my city, for Arrecife. I want a socialist mayor because Arrecife needs a socialist mayor.
With Pedro Sánchez as president of the Government of Spain and Ángel Víctor Torres as president of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Loli Corujo has recovered political stability, economic activity and progress, the well-being and quality of life of the population. That is why we have advanced towards an island with greater social justice, with great economic dynamism, with a record in job creation, with more permanent jobs and with labor legislation that protects workers.
Advances that benefit the citizens of Arrecife
The conjunction between Loli Corujo, Ángel Víctor Torres and Pedro Sánchez has been fundamental for us to be better today than four years ago, and proof of this are also measures such as the Minimum Basic Income, the revaluation of pensions, the increases in the Minimum Interprofessional Wage, the labor reform and more permanent contracts, the tax on large fortunes, the equalization of paternity and maternity leave, the Euthanasia Law, the Only Yes is Yes Law or the first Comprehensive Housing Law of democracy.
The citizens of Arrecife also benefit from all these advances. But I do not forget some important actions of the Government of the Canary Islands, such as the imminent commissioning of the Emerging Diseases Building (100 beds), the Radiotherapy Bunker and the Unit in the Dr. Molina Orosa Hospital. The rest of the island's population also benefits from all this, as is natural. We must also note the start of the contracting of the first 134 Public Promotion Homes in Maneje by the Government of the Canary Islands, which will be followed by several hundred more.
The Cabildo has invested more than 36 million in Arrecife
With Loli Corujo, the Cabildo has invested more than 36 million euros in Arrecife in this term. That means that the Cabildo of Loli Corujo has invested more than double in Arrecife in this term than Coalición Canaria in the previous term. So I have no doubt that, despite the extraordinary circumstances we have experienced, Loli Corujo offers us the best management in the worst moment of our history.
There are a total of 37 actions in Arrecife that bear the Cabildo's seal, such as the renovation-maintenance of the Traffic Light Network, the improvements to Tenderete street, the renovation of the Altavista Agapito Reyes football field, children's parks and bio-healthy areas, the renovation and modernization of the lighting in the neighborhoods of Maneje and Las Salinas or the Safe School Route in the CEIP Nieves Toledo. And so on up to 37.
My message is clear. When it comes to improving people's lives, the PSOE does not look at political colors: the PSOE has been and is with Arrecife. But I am not satisfied with what we have done, I want more. And that will only be possible if the conjunction between Loli Corujo, Ángel Víctor Torres and Pedro Sánchez is joined by a socialist mayor in Arrecife.
