Dear Manolo,
You have been the last to flee from the egomaniac, arrogant and alleged criminal. You have given a lesson in dignity, taking your time, but you have done it, and you have joined those who fled before you, joining the unanimous opposition that for years has been clamoring to put an end to so much despotic management. That lesson is aimed at all those who criticize the political class, with good reason, for clinging to public salaries; it is also aimed at those in your Party who see the loss of the little prominence they have left and, without a doubt, it is also aimed at those who incomprehensibly, three of them, have propped up the one who is in the judicial pillory.
In other words, you have left those who have gone against the tide with their backsides in the air, since no one in Lanzarote forgets the brutal disagreements that the three of them have had in the recent past with the little lord who believes himself to be the owner of the farm. Unlike you, they lack the dignity, in their ideological budgets, that you have to spare, in view of their clamorous lowering of their pants. But, in addition, your dignified resignation has completely destroyed the arguments of those three hypocritical and deluded entrants. They took the step publicly proclaiming that they were taking it to give political stability, but, with your action, they have been exposed since the chiringuito is once again in the minority, which is at least hilarious: you enter to give stability and you end up in the minority or how to make a fool of yourself, fascicle I.
But the thing does not end there, although what has been exposed there already gives for much. The real reason why the three entrants have entered is not only to pocket salaries disguising the matter of institutional stability; the real reason is their desperate boss and her compulsive intention to be mayor, for and by what essentially gave birth to the monster of supporting the judicially accused.
And, why be mayor at all costs? Because she interprets that it would be the way to reach the regional elections of 2019 with greater strength, when in view of the result of her pathetic trick, the electoral setback is assured. Manolo, I do not criticize the intention of the head of the three entrants to be mayor, moreover, I share with her that it would be convenient not only for her particular interests, but also for those of Arrecife. What I criticize is that, in politics, as in life itself, not everything is valid and with respect to that you have demonstrated a lot with your resignation. When something is impossible, insisting on it becomes grotesque. If the numbers do not add up to be mayor in any way, do not try to be it at any price. In this case, any price included uselessly perpetuating someone judicially investigated for committing crimes incompatible with being who he is.
The fact is that your commendable resignation demands that the useless aspiring mayor, useless because her aspiration is, explain to her electorate the impossibility of her perverse ploy. You become part of the very small list of politicians who resign on principle, while the boss and her three acolytes reaffirm themselves in that of those who feed the widespread and deserved politophobia.
Thank you for reminding us that humiliation is voluntary.
