It never rains to everyone's liking

March 23 2018 (18:21 WET)

Or all that glitters is not gold. As a Spaniard, democrat and constitutionalist, I am delighted with the fracture of the criminal Catalan independence movement. The CUP members have blown up the "procés", that coup d'état initially conceived to cover up the immense corruption of the nationalist political parties of Catalonia. The refusal of the anti-system CUP to invest Turull as president has been a balm for the Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia and for the Spanish Constitution, it has provided oxygen to the democratically established order and, best of all, it has come from the deepest and most reactionary part of secessionism; it came from those who wave the anti-capitalist, anti-European, anti-Spanish, androphobic, feminazi, Bolshevik, Chavista, pro-ETA flag and, in addition, yearn to reproduce in groups and for their children to belong to the tribe.

Yes, there has been no need to pull more strategy than to let the perverse and twisted ultra-leftist utopia has ruined the illegal independence process. It has been shown that it was absolutely impossible to marry the Catalan independentist right, whose objective was to achieve independence to prevent the judicial framework of Spain from judging its terrible corruption, with the pathetic extreme left whose objective is to blow up everyone and everything. That explosive anti-nature mixture was apparently kept together by the mirage of independence, but when it faced democracy and the rule of law, the mixture exploded.

So, why doesn't it rain to everyone's liking and why isn't all that glitters gold?

I have stated that the prevalence of democracy over crime in Catalonia is great news for Catalonia, for Spain and for Europe. It is really gold for normality and rain for the dry longings for freedom in that Catalonia kidnapped by sectarianism and exclusion, but we are in March and we still do not have a General State Budget for 2018. This is where the counterpoint comes in or, from a Taoist point of view, the yang of the yin or the yin of the yang.

In Catalonia there will be no stable autonomous government free of those prosecuted for very serious crimes in the short or medium term. The direct consequence of this is that the 155 will continue to be in force with the consequent reasonable, if not magnificent, administrative daily life in that autonomous community of Spain. But, the inevitable prolongation of the validity of the 155 prevents the necessary General State Budget of 2018 from being approved and, therefore, Spain will continue to function with the Budget of 2017 extended.

By virtue of the above, the joy as a Spaniard for the self-inflicted setback of Catalan independence is confronted with my reality as a Canary Islander. The 155 in Catalonia prevents the necessary parliamentary support to approve the PGE 2018 and that translates into the annulment of the "Canary Islands Agenda", with an immediate cut in the Autonomous Budget of 186 million ?, which will not reach us Canary Islanders, plus a significant negative impact on strategic expectations derived from the REF such as the possible achievement of better fares in trips with the peninsula.

Unless the PSOE of the Canary Islands truly watches over all the Canary Islanders and convinces the national PSOE to support the PGE 2018 in the Congress of Deputies. Probably the latter is asking as much as that the CUP comes to see well that Catalonia, as part of Spain, belongs to the EU, the UN and NATO.
