Qualifying and denouncing an attitude is not a lack of respect, as the Mayor of Tías stated in the minutes of the last plenary session on February 20. Anyone who has a minimum of respect for the work of the union and its negotiation tables will surely share my opinion that the position of the current PP-SB government group in the Tías Town Hall regarding collective bargaining can be described as "not giving a damn".
I want to think that this complaint made in the plenary session affected them in such a way that their capacity for discretion was clouded and they tried to corrupt my words with a totally out of place and inappropriate meaning, recording in the minutes my supposed lack of respect for using this expression, which some of us use colloquially.
"I don't give a damn" denotes that something or someone is indifferent to us, we don't care, it keeps us immutable.
Its origin comes from the nautical code where "poner al pairo" or "pairar" is a maneuver in which we keep the boat static with respect to the bottom, if there is a drag tide it would imply keeping it facing the bow and with little sail area to counteract the impulse and thus stay in the same position.
It is regrettable that the mayor's lack of knowledge is recorded in the minutes, who, filled with pride, demanded that the secretary record the use of such an expression, but even more painful that this arrogance was seconded by his deputy mayor, nodding his head.
In other words, how would you describe this attitude if the councilor of the area publicly states that having a favorable report from the technicians is more than enough to adopt agreements that affect the workers because you cannot negotiate with the unions?
Personally, I understand that this means that the current government group does not give a damn about collective bargaining. How ridiculous the accusation of lack of respect sounds when the origin and meaning of such an expression is known!
A tremendous lack of respect for me is that the ignorance of the Mayor in such an excellent Institution has pointed me out for being immersed in a state of arrogance of such dimensions that it incapacitated him to govern a plenary session with the temperance and seriousness that the Consistory deserves. Lack of respect for the gestures and mockery of certain public officials of the government group when a member of the opposition presents his arguments in plenary session.
Let it be recorded in the minutes that making correct use of Spanish expressions and knowing the nautical jargon is not a lack of respect but of knowledge by those who misinterpret them.
