I add up with Ángel Víctor

July 19 2017 (21:06 WEST)

Next Sunday my ballot will bear the name of Ángel Víctor. I will vote for him because I am convinced that he is the secretary general that the PSOE needs. And it is not because I have been convinced by his promises. I have been convinced by his history, what he has already demonstrated.

Many colleagues speak of that councilor who led a weak and minority PSOE in Arucas and turned it into a winning PSOE, becoming mayor. Others speak of his ability to forge pacts and place the PSOE as a reference force in Gran Canaria.

I have recognized that part of the story, which is true, to all of them, but I have reminded them that there is another part that seems even more important to me: with Ángel Víctor, Gran Canaria has experienced a time of extraordinary organic strength. In Gran Canaria, the PSOE is not a party that is talked about for its internal problems, in Gran Canaria people talk about the PSOE's policies (whether they like them or not), they talk about what the PSOE does, but not about the PSOE.

That is what we need: a secretary general capable of leading the party with the prudence and good work that dealing with people requires (we are that, people who share ideals and work together), but also with the firmness that governing any organization requires. That is the best portrait of Ángel Víctor. That is why he adds up.

The history of the other candidates is also there: internal conflicts, problems with partners, decisions in almost clandestine meetings of closed groups of supporters, the opposite of what Ángel Víctor represents.

That is why, because Ángel Víctor adds up while others divide us as a party and subtract capacity and credibility, I also join his project, to add up with Ángel Víctor.
