On February 8, we woke up with the unexpected surprise that the president of the VOX Executive Committee of the province of Las Palmas was convicted of tax crime. VOX reacted as never before seen a political party react to a similar circumstance, and gave a lesson in political ethics. Before the morning of that Friday was over, the Executive of the province was dissolved.
Only six weeks and three days have passed since then. Many members in the three islands have heard on many occasions, from members of other political forces, that what happened would take a huge toll on us, that without structure we would not be able to face the elections, that support would fade and other ominous comments motivated, without a doubt, by the desire to finish off the spirit of the fallen adversary. They rubbed their hands believing that they had gotten rid of a huge demographic obstacle and that, therefore, their path was cleared.
How wrong they were and how clear we had it in VOX! We have managed to provide ourselves with a magnificent provincial Management that will continue its work of organic implementation in the coming days. Likewise, we obtained more than triple the endorsements necessary to present ourselves to the general elections. At this point I have to point out the feeling of astonishment that we have who have been involved in collecting the endorsements, given the impressive response found; so it is proven that VOX is expected, and it is expected with real enthusiasm.
The province of Las Palmas has 1.1 million inhabitants of which we have the possibility of voting 800 thousand. A dozen and a half political parties compete in a sociological moment in which politics is reviled, so it is really difficult to find people with good work, academic and personal profiles willing to integrate lists and expose themselves publicly. Well, despite the objective difficulties mentioned that affect all political formations, VOX has managed to attract extraordinary people with individual characteristics that will allow them to brilliantly develop the legislative tasks of the two Chambers that make up the General Courts, the Congress of Deputies and the Senate.
VOX is what millions of Spaniards wanted to hear, and from now on there are a handful of brave Canarians who come to raise loud and clear in the Canary Islands and in Madrid what hundreds of thousands of Spaniards who reside in this Atlantic archipelago want for our land, which is Spain. To the PP and Ciudadanos, tell them that we do not care that they increasingly mimic us and copy our positions; after all, we are involuntary exporters of everything that voters want; although yes, they must consider that plagiarism is increasingly frowned upon, seen what has been seen. To the rest of the political forces, ask them to control their anxiety, because in democracy who commands is the People. And now the time of VOX has come.
