A criminal in VOX

February 8 2019 (12:14 WET)

For years I have been the scourge of corruption in political parties, for which I have used countless opinion articles, published at the Canarian and national level, as well as using social networks to denounce that damn scourge. Rotten apples there were, are and will be in all groups, and political parties are no strangers to them. But, if we cannot avoid rotten apples, because the human being is susceptible to rotting, what we can do is locate them and remove them quickly. Thus, I have put the corruption that affects the PSOE, the one that affects the Catalan independentist parties and the PP, in hot water. But, above all, what I have been ruthless with is the way to manage the stench of that pigsty that does so much damage to democracy. Because while it is true that the dark side is chosen individually, when your organization covers you and benefits from not tackling the evil drift, that organization ends up being devoured.

Today, Friday, February 8, I woke up very early, as usual, and when I consulted the digital news, I gagged. Deep disgust is what I felt for this news: https://www.canarias7.es/sociedad/tribunales/condena-al-lider-de-vox-en-las-palmas-por-delito-fiscal-FX6536676. The provincial president of VOX of the province of Las Palmas is a criminal. Yes, a criminal because that is what Justice has determined by means of a final judgment.

There is something worse than the fact that a VOX leader is a criminal, and that is that the guy has kept it absolutely secret. Perhaps because he intended to use the party to do business or/and occupy some paid public office as a possibility of earning money to pay off his debt with Justice and thus avoid going to prison? We do not know. What is certain is that it is not right to be the leader of a new political party, which flies the flag of regeneration, being a crook pending entering the slammer for defrauding the money box of all, that is, for something as serious in a politician as is the tax crime.

But, VOX is not to blame for one of its members becoming corrupt. VOX, nor any of its members and leaders, knew this. The news has run us over, that is the truth. In any case, and although VOX is exempt from any responsibility in this disgusting scenario, what is certain is that we are ashamed that a colleague has hidden this brown from us.

However, from now on and in a very short space of time, VOX is at stake. And let me explain. After a reasonable time, very limited, that VOX gives to the lying criminal to resign as provincial president of Las Palmas, if he does not, the party must act in accordance with its statutes by suspending or expelling him, dissolving the Provincial Executive Committee and creating a Provincial Management. I am sure that VOX will be up to the task. For my part and as a member, although I do not have to apologize because neither I am guilty nor is my party, I am going to do so: I communicate to all possible VOX voters in the province of Las Palmas my sincere apologies for the undesirable image that we are giving when it is discovered through a media outlet that our top leader in this province is a criminal defrauding the common economic interests of the Spanish people. I am ashamed, but also hopeful of quickly repairing this damage.
