The Yaiza City Council has started this week the works for the total reconstruction of the sports area of the urban area of San Marcial del Rubicón, in the southern town of Playa Blanca. The City Council will invest 364,000 euros of municipal resources in this work, which will include a multifunctional court for soccer and basketball, bleachers, calisthenics machines, public bathrooms, fencing, street furniture and gardens.
"In addition, we have almost finished the children's park in this same urban area, a newly implemented park located two streets from the sports center, and soon we will begin with the paving, construction of accessible pedestrian crossings and signage in all the streets of the partial plan, with which we complete an ambitious urban intervention of social benefit”, highlighted the mayor, Óscar Noda.
The Councilor for Sports, Ángel Lago, specifies that “the new sports center is located on Avenida Papagayo, in a strategic area, so the families of Las Coloradas who live very close will also be able to enjoy the facility.”
"With the investments in sports facilities and leisure areas in general, we intend for our society to have healthy alternatives for recreation, enabling urban spaces that promote integration and meeting points among the youngest, which is why we are also starting the urban regeneration of the residential center of Playa Blanca with another project already signed for 454,000 euros to modernize the town's court”, added the mayor.
In addition, he announced that in 2022 they will maintain "the investment pulse that gives well-being to our neighbors and boosts the economy by creating employment, because it is also true that we are an administration that pays all its suppliers on time.”
