Toledo, emphasized today, Tuesday, the importance of the Government of Spain “paying all due attention to the Canary Islands and accounting” to the Canarian nationalists regarding the degree of compliance with the Canarian Agenda signed with the objectives of Canarian interest during the XV Legislature in the Spanish State.

“The Canarian Agenda has advanced and important things have been achieved for this land, but it is not advancing at the speed desired by us and in the Canary Islands we feel mistreated, belittled, and in the case of the Immigration Law to respond to the humanitarian crisis of migrant children, the Canary Islands has felt and continues to feel very alone,” explained David Toledo during an informative appearance on the occasion of the new political course.

Regarding the migratory issue, to which the Secretary of Organization of the Canarian Coalition gives a “crucial importance to know what treatment we receive both in the State and in the set of territories,” David Toledo has underlined the nationalist criticism of the “scarce interest that the PSOE and the Government of Spain have shown so far to respond effectively and quickly to the migratory crisis that the Canary Islands suffers” as part of the State and also as part of the European Union (EU). “We have even seen ministers who are very skilled in party politics, but also very weak in developing public policies, which is not the same,” said David Toledo.

In this scenario, the Secretary of Organization of the Canarian Coalition reiterated the political message that “little by little is permeating our party organs, where it is debated with total frankness and freedom what our objectives are based on the interest of the Canary Islands” about a possible revision of the political pact signed a year ago with the PSOE.

“Now, given the reality and the treatment we receive, we are rethinking the support for the socialist Government,” explained David Toledo to specify that an interview is pending with the first vice president and Minister of Finance to know the fit of the Canary Islands in the draft law of the General State Budgets for 2025 and “verify if the Government of Spain responds to the migratory crisis.”

“We have requested that formal meeting with the PSOE to verify what is materializing from the Canarian Agenda and also to convey that the Canary Islands feels alone in the face of the State's abandonment of functions to respond to the very serious humanitarian crisis on our coasts,” said David Toledo.
