The government of the Tías City Council recently summoned all political groups with representation in the municipal corporation so that the drafting team of the General Plan of the municipality could present the work done to date in this planning document.
"In this first phase, it is a priority that the municipal plenary session requests the Autonomous Environmental Body of the Government of the Canary Islands to extend the validity of the current strategic environmental report in order to continue with the processing of the file," they point out from the Consistory.
For this approval, the technical justification prepared for this purpose is taken into consideration, which proves that "there have been no substantial changes in the essential elements that served as the basis for carrying out its strategic environmental assessment, including the changes that derive from compliance with the conditions imposed in the environmental report."
The new document in process aims to adapt the current planning to the Canary Islands Land Law, as well as to provide answers to the allegations and suggestions made by the residents during the previous stage in which it was submitted to public information.
As soon as the Autonomous Environmental Body gives its approval to the environmental content of the General Plan of the municipality of Tías, it will proceed to its initial approval and submission to public information.
During the same day, the III Plan for Modernization, Improvement and Increase of Competitiveness of Puerto del Carmen was also reported. The drafting team of this document informed the members of the corporation of the different proposals formulated by the economic agents of the municipality and by the consistory itself. As soon as the corresponding technical reports are completed, the Modernization Plan will be sent to the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands.
