Tías needs to change towards the 21st century

You have criticized both the mayor of Tías and the PP opposition, why?

We have been with the same politicians for three decades, some in government and others in opposition. To give you an idea, in Spain they were playing the Naranjito World Cup, there were no cell phones, no Internet, no personal computers in homes, video was only in the homes of the most affluent... and at that time Pepe Juan and Pancho were already arguing about who had to sit in the mayor's office. Now they are just two candidates without ideas, boring and boring to the population. Today the world has changed, Tías has changed, and we need a change towards the 21st century. That change is only represented by the Canarian Coalition.

What would you change about Tías?

The first thing is the economic model. We must recover the island's tourism leadership, lost due to the neglect of the PP and PSOE. We will start a powerful Local Development Agency, which will execute the design of the "Tías Emprende" initiative. We need to change the promotion model and abandon the block as the only investment solution. We must promote new technologies. In addition, the City Council cannot continue to be the biggest cause of business bankruptcies in the municipality. Suppliers, sports clubs and associations must be paid in a timely manner.

What projects would you highlight for the future of Tías?

We will make a municipality for people to enjoy with their families in spaces for leisure. That is why we are going to project a large park in Puerto del Carmen, another in Tías and we will promote the Tegoyo area, as well as many small squares and parks where people reside. On the contrary, the candidates of the last century want the parks above the ring road, in inhospitable and uninhabited areas. As always, then they will say: "We put the parks there and people don't go. Nobody understands this." But the problem is that the parks must be close to the houses, to the homes, to the children who play. We must prevent them from having to take the car even to go for a walk with their children.

What would you highlight about your own team?

New people have joined our team with a great desire to represent their own town. Their trajectories are endorsed by a commitment to their town, even prior to politics. But the most important thing is that we can cover all areas of government. Providing effective solutions to the challenges of the century we are in. Experts in sports and social management, together with experts in economics and tourism. I cannot imagine a more valuable group of people in Lanzarote.
