The Tías Town Council, through its Youth Department, has held several meetings with students from the two Secondary Education Institutes (IES) of Tías and Puerto del Carmen and with users of the municipality's Youth Space to prepare the Strategic Plan for Adolescence and Youth with the contributions received.

The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councillor for Youth, Pepa González, explained that the objective of these meetings is "to listen directly to the young people of the municipality, to understand their real needs, and to build with them a plan for the future that responds to their concerns and aspirations."

Approximately 140 students from the 3rd and 4th years of secondary school participated in these sessions, adding to the contributions made by the many young users of the Tías Youth Space, located in El Pavón square. The initiative was carried out with the collaboration of the Adsis Foundation and the municipal technical team of Youth, Culture, and social intervention professionals.

The contributions made by young people, who also participated in a Youth Commission held on Friday at the Espacio Joven, are grouped into several areas, such as Sports and sports facilities, Culture and leisure, Mobility and transport, Training and employability, and Civics and coexistence.

Pepa González confirmed that "from the City Council, we listen to young people, and the Strategic Plan for Adolescence and Youth will take their reflections and proposals into account. We have the responsibility of building policies that respond to an active, critical, and participatory youth," she added.

Among the requests made by the young people, the implementation of awareness campaigns, civic education, and youth co-responsibility programs stood out, in order to promote the care of public spaces and improve coexistence.
