The Public Works Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has put out to tender a program for the recovery of the seabed and coastline of the Charco de San Ginés. The objective of this initiative is to improve its sanitation networks and the reconstruction of a wall that delimits and allows for a deeper cleaning.
As pointed out by the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, "we want to improve the Zerolo pumping station, which is located at the intersection of Hermanos Zerolo and Cienfuegos streets, since, on other occasions, it has collapsed and spilled waste onto the road until it flows into the Charco."
Medina believes that "thanks to this new tender, we will install two solid crushers that are capable of processing wipes and fibers to reduce pump maintenance and thus avoid obstruction of the sanitation system."
The mayor and direct head of the Arrecife City Council, Yonathan de León, assures that this work "will solve a historical problem for the citizens of the capital, which will also avoid collapses in the sewage pipes."
The base budget for this tender amounts to 141,794 euros, with an execution period of two months. All documentation relating to this new public call can be requested through the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote through the link https://cabildodelanzarote.sedelectronica.es/doc/9NS934SSQL2R5TG5KZSLZG4TA.0.
