The PSOE of Teguise denounces that the CC government has "done away with" the green line of citizen participation without further explanation." "Green Line Deactivated" is the "sad statement" that search engines return when residents type "Teguise green line", "a service that the still mayor Oswaldo Betancort boasted about not so long ago", they comment from the party. "Teguise, more efficient thanks to the Green Line", they claimed in early 2022 in an official statement from the City Council.
They acknowledge that "those 803 incidents registered in 2021 through the Green Line Smart City App have been reduced to zero because the nationalist government has been unable to renew the service." In this sense, "the synergy that existed between the citizens and the City Council has been cut short without prior notice or warning", explains the councilor Benito Rodríguez.
"It is incomprehensible that a service that worked reasonably well disappears with the CC government standing idly by"
"The green application facilitated the direct communication of minor politics: a tile in poor condition, a lopped tree, a spill or any defect was communicated directly to the City Council whose operators proceeded to provide a solution", recalls the politician.
He also acknowledges that "it is incomprehensible that a service that worked reasonably well and allowed citizen involvement in the day-to-day of their municipality disappears with the CC government standing idly by, inoperative when it comes to renewing the service, and what is worse, that it does not inform the citizens." He recalls that "once again it has to be the socialist party that reports on those issues that the Canary Coalition government wants to hide.”
Therefore, the party demands Oswaldo Betancort, “to restore the demanded service as soon as possible before leaving Teguise, thus promoting citizen participation in the denunciation and solution of the problems that affect them.”
