The PSOE of Arrecife asks Astrid Pérez to "not expel the autocovid from the Cabildo esplanade". "It should be noted that autocovid has been a tremendously positive initiative, praised by the people of Lanzarote and by many of those who visit the island, as an example of efficiency and good work in the fight against the pandemic. And it is that both the system itself and the professionals who work in it are a source of pride for all", the socialists state.

Cristina Duque points out that "since the arrival of ómicron in Lanzarote, in December, the pandemic on the island has blocked the primary care system, tracking and the ability to make covid diagnoses, due to the difficulty of doing large quantities of tests". "In this sense, adds Duque, institutional authorities must collaborate so that it is as easy as possible for the professionals who are on the front line to carry out their tasks."

"The expulsion of autocovid from Arrecife is another disruption to our system of fighting against Covid, which should be concerned with the detection and treatment of this disease, and not with relocating a system as complex as autocovid", criticizes the socialist councilor. “Astrid cannot create new problems for the health authorities, but must collaborate with them,” adds the socialist spokesperson Cristina Duque.

The socialists also state that "the message that is sent to the population is contradictory". “From the PSOE we think it is a terrible message to prioritize a party over the early detection system for Covid” explains Duque.

Finally, the socialists of Arrecife want to "remember that the final decision for better or for worse is that of the Mayor of the city, not of the delegated councilors. Since what is being experienced on the island is a popular clamor, both in favor of autocovid, as in favor of the excellent professionals who carry out their work day after day in that service".
