The Federal List Commission of the Socialist Party has determined this Wednesday the "unsuitability" of Casimiro Curbelo as a candidate for the Presidency of the Island Council of La Gomera, thus preventing him from running in the next elections.
The party itself recalls in a statement that Curbelo "is charged in two legal cases." In addition, the PSOE recalls that Casimiro Curbelo has been president of the Gomera Island Council since 1991 and this would be the seventh time that he would lead the candidacy. "The need for a renewal in the PSOE of La Gomera, together with an unstable organic situation of the party on this island, have justified this decision," the party adds.
In the same statement, the PSOE reports the confirmation of other candidacies, chosen through the procedure of primaries in Toledo and Ávila, and the proposal of the head of the list for the Mayoralty of Vitoria. Finally, the party reports the resignation as a candidate for the presidency of the community of Madrid of Tomás Gómez, after the creation of a management team in the PSOE of this community.
