The PSOE of Teguise criticizes in a "forceful" way the umpteenth refusal of the mayor Oswaldo Betancort to appear in plenary and explain the situation of the skeleton of plot 214 of Costa Teguise.
During the last plenary session, the municipal mayor left out of the agenda for the seventh time the appearance requested by the socialist group since July 29.
“We do not know if Oswaldo Betancort's refusal to appear is due to the ‘shame’ that the structure is still standing, after 12 years in the mayor's office, or due to the participation of members of the Canarian Coalition in the generation of this urban and social problem, but the truth is that he systematically refuses to clarify the situation of this plot”, Bergaz points out.
“In democratic terms it is intolerable, even more so when in the exercise of his position as a parliamentarian he demands the appearance of numerous officials of the Government of the Canary Islands, however, when it is his turn to practice what he preaches, he rejects his duty to explain the situation of the skeleton to the plenary”, continues the spokesperson.
“All this, even though the image of Costa Teguise and Lanzarote is damaged by these ‘skeletons’, examples of urban illegality, and that in the case of plot 214 it has become a social problem as it is increasingly used by more people as a housing solution”, recalls Bergaz.
To conclude, the socialist group states that “we are once again fulfilling the promise made to the citizens by demanding explanations from the Government of Teguise on an issue that they want to ignore, as well as insisting that it be knocked down once and for all, after too much time of passivity by the Canarian Coalition”, concludes Bergaz.
