The state leadership of the PSOE, through a power signed by the federal managing director of the PSOE, has appeared in the case dismissed by the Supreme Court against the former president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés for the contracts to the lawyer Ignacio Calatayud. In addition, the High Court decided to return the case to the Court of Instruction number 4 of Arrecife, which is held by Ricardo Fiestras, to continue investigating the rest of the people.
After learning of the appearance, the current senator for the Autonomous Community of CC has lamented the "partisan use of justice by the current leadership of the PSOE and has denounced a political witch hunt against him for a judicial case that has already been dismissed by the Supreme Court." In this sense, Pedro San Ginés has criticized "the appearance of the state leadership of the PSOE in a judicial file on which the Supreme Court has decided its dismissal, in a decision against the criteria of the Prosecutor's Office itself." "It is the definitive demonstration of the exclusive political intentionality that the false complaint filed by the island's general secretary of the PSOE, the current national deputy Dolores Corujo, always had," says San Ginés.
San Ginés points out that the appearance has been "we assume with the approval of its general secretary, Pedro Sánchez, and the regional one, Ángel Víctor Torres, unless an island general secretary has the capacity to do so," the senator has recalled some background of the case already dismissed by the Supreme Court. Thus, Pedro San Ginés indicates that "the former president of the Cabildo, now a deputy, after hiding from the judge and the mayors of the Assembly of the Island Water Consortium legal reports from the Cabildo and the Consortium that exonerated him - also multiple official documents that accredited the collegiate and transparent nature of the agreements with the intention of incriminating him alone - resorted to external legal services with which he invented a false complaint that, again, fell to Judge Jerónimo Alonso, who charged him with all the crimes reported and some more."
"This judge was finally removed from the case after receiving serious reprimands from the Provincial Court for his poor procedural dynamics against me, but before he had charged me as the head of an organized criminal gang, attributing multiple and serious crimes to me for which I suffered years of bench penalty, dozens of headlines in the Canary Islands media, in many cases prepared from the office of the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and paid for with public funds, in addition to inflicting on me the total blocking of current accounts, the removal of work tools and the preventive seizure of my assets until today," adds San Ginés.
San Ginés also emphasizes that "before 24 hours had passed since the day the judge ordered the entry into his home of a dozen civil guards with dogs looking for money - after months of secret investigation, tracking and locating the final destination of the investigated funds, and, therefore, in a prohibited prospective investigation, without precedent, I stated at a press conference that I did not know what they were doing in my house, but I did know that they would never find anything that would incriminate me, and that everything must be due to the complaint announced in the plenary sessions of the Cabildo by its then president, Dolores Corujo, with the exclusive political interest of removing me from the race for the presidency, which she achieved," said the nationalist senator.
In this sense, Pedro San Ginés, reiterates that "they found nothing after a thorough study of bank accounts, consultations with the property registry, downloads of information on telephones, emails, institutional and personal hard drives, as well as escorting the judge during the investigation of the case for alleged threats from my environment that were never clarified." Therefore, continues San Ginés, "the only purpose was to show me to public opinion as the true head of a criminal gang - they even took a backpack from me in my statement for risk of a bomb! - in a political operation seasoned for years with the manipulation of information that was intentionally leaked to the media from the court and the complaining institution, that is, the Cabildo, until fortunately the judge was first removed from this case, and after the elections that Corujo lost, the legal services of the institution took the reins of a case that never existed."
In this context, Pedro San Ginés points to the state leadership of the PSOE as a "necessary actor in a political case armed by his rivals on the island of Lanzarote" and regrets "that credence is given to false arguments to which the Supreme Court itself has already removed all entity by deciding the definitive dismissal of the case" because, says the senator, "it does not detach from it indications of criminality against me," indicates the dismissal order. For this reason, Senator Pedro San Ginés has lamented "the intrusion of the state leadership of the PSOE through the appearance authorized by its federal managing director, Ana María Fuentes Pacheco, who, based in Madrid, signed the notarial power that allowed the national PSOE to appear in this case to try to prevent its dismissal at all costs."
Finally, San Ginés says that "the last maneuver of the PSOE reflects its desperation to know that there is nothing, as the Supreme Court has decided" and focuses "on the responsibility of a political witch hunt driven by his rivals on the island of Lanzarote." "Let us not forget that the PSOE presided over the corporation in whose name the false complaint was filed, which is an evident, clear and definitive demonstration of the exclusive political intentionality that the false complaint filed by the island's general secretary of the PSOE and today national deputy of the PSOE, Dolores Corujo, always had," says the nationalist senator, "and what is worse, it does so not only against the criteria of the Supreme Court that dismissed his complaint, but also of the Public Prosecutor's Office itself, which did not oppose the dismissal in the Supreme Court."
