Representatives of the PSOE and the Popular Party have requested in separate presentations made separately and in different areas, the creation of a investigation commission to clarify all the steps taken within the framework of the contract signed between Inalsa and the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) Edam Janubio for the construction and operation for 15 years of a desalination plant in Janubio, which led to an award that obliges the public company [ to compensate the UTE with almost 10 million euros ->7511], for the alleged breach of that contract.
The socialists made their presentation last Thursday, before the Board of Directors of Inalsa, while the popular ones did so in the Cabildo, last Saturday.
In its motion, the PP asks that the plenary session of the first island corporation "agree to the creation of an investigation commission to clarify the process that has been followed since the signing of the contract" and so that "the corresponding responsibilities are determined, if any".
In that presentation, the popular ones mention the Verification Act of the Stakeout, which [ as this medium reported ->7596] when bringing it to public light last Friday, and as reflected by the PP in its motion, "substantially modifies one of the clauses of the contract, precisely the one that established who was responsible for obtaining the pertinent licenses and authorizations, and on whom, therefore, the responsibility lay if said permits were not obtained", and adds that "apparently, the act was signed by Inalsa technicians, without knowing if there was knowledge of this by the public officials of the time", as La Voz de Lanzarote also advanced.
In turn, the popular ones request that information be provided on the other route to which the UTE appealed in addition to the Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce of Las Palmas, which issued the award, since a case is also being processed on the same issue in the contentious-administrative route.
