The president of the Ginory Investigation Commission "begs" CC not to request parallel appearances

“If we all start asking for appearances in the plenary session, we will attend the ceremony of confusion, and the commission will lose its meaning,” says Armando Santana, in response to the latest statement from his government partner.

NC councilor Armando Santana, as president of the Ginory case Investigation Commission, has publicly "begged" the Canary Coalition to "refrain from requesting appearances on this case outside of the aforementioned commission." “If each political group is dedicated to requesting appearances in the plenary session, we would be emptying the commission of content and confusing citizens,” Santana warns in response to the latest statement from his government partner, in which he announced the request for an appearance by the socialist councilor Cristina Duque.

“While it is true that as president of the Commission I cannot and should not intervene in the public communication of each party, I would like to ask for responsibility when dealing with both the commission and the case itself,” says the councilor, who explains that this Monday he already asked each political formation to appoint a spokesperson to the commission. “All parties will have a voice,” he stresses.

"All testimonies, declarations or interventions that the different political groups of the municipal arc deem appropriate, will be considered in due time and in their proper framework. If we start asking for parallel appearances in the plenary session by each party, we will attend the ceremony of confusion, and the commission will lose its meaning and we will disappoint the citizens,” Santana insisted.

"From the Arrecife City Council, the payment of tens of millions of euros has been made, from the money of the residents, for a plot of land of just 10 thousand meters, and it is not even clear that it exists as such. This should focus all our efforts on explaining to citizens what has happened, and how we should do to prevent it from happening again,” concluded the councilor.
