For the popular party "these birds continue to cause serious problems of dirt and bad odors in the park". That is why they reproach the Government Group in the City Council that "after more than 100 days of municipal government, and after several motions and questions asked by the PP", the Arrecife City Council, "has done absolutely nothing" with respect to the heron colony that inhabits the José Ramírez Cerdá Park.
Thus, the popular party criticizes that all the herons have not yet been transferred to the cage near the Cabildo and they emphasize that "the worst thing" is that "the City Council has made the decision to close the park, due to the health problems it presents, but it does not carry out cleaning work, a fact that has caused the excrement of the herons to completely flood the area, gardens and benches included.
The PP considers that the park, located in the heart of Arrecife, "is totally abandoned, and practically taken over by the herons. The dirt is increasingly evident and dangerous, not only for the residents who live in the vicinity, but also for the rest of the citizens who walk near the area", they say in the press release.
