The regional deputy of the Popular Party (PP) for the island of Lanzarote, Fernando Figuereo, stated this Wednesday that the Government Delegate, Carolina Darias, "owes an explanation to society and public apologies to the Civil Guard" after "it has been proven" that she "did not tell the truth" about the working conditions of the agents in charge of the Integrated Exterior Surveillance System (SIVE) in Lanzarote.
Figuereo stated that it is "very serious" that the Government Delegate "first prohibited" the Civil Guard officers from any type of food and drink supplies during their working day at the Sive in Lanzarote, "later publicly denied that circumstance" and, today, six months later, "we have all verified that that order was given by the Government Delegation".
"One thing is that Carolina Darias develops her public responsibility from opacity and concealment of the facts, which is neither desirable nor presentable; and, quite another is that the Unified Association of the Civil Guard casts doubt on the Government Delegation in the eyes of society", explained the popular deputy.
"She is incapable of showing her face"
Figuereo assured that "it is an indignity" that officials of the Civil Guard perform their public work in dependencies "that lack toilets and rest areas to eat or drink water", as denounced by the Unified Association of Civil Guards.
"And it is equally deplorable that Carolina Darias falsifies reality, calls civil guards liars and today we discover the deception of a Government Delegate in the Canary Islands who, far from immediately guaranteeing the indispensable means to the Civil Guard, hides and is incapable of showing her face", he concludes.
