The Popular Party will request a detour that allows vehicles circulating on the LZ-2 road, in the Yaiza-Arrecife direction, to directly join the underpass that leads to the Tías crusher. The formation will present this request through a motion to the next plenary session of the Cabildo, so that this Corporation studies the technical possibilities and, if applicable, the execution of the detour.
The PP assures that currently all vehicles circulating on this road from Arrecife can directly access these facilities located in the area known as Barranco Negro. A possibility that, however, does not exist for those circulating in the opposite direction.
"In these cases, drivers are forced to go down to the road that goes towards Puerto del Carmen and, from there, go up the karting road to the underground bridge that crosses the LZ-2 to reach their destination", explains the councilor of the Popular Party, Emilio Bermúdez.
For Bermúdez, this situation "does not pose a major complication for an individual who goes sporadically", but it does for "freight transport professionals, for whom it is a major disruption because most of them have to make this journey several times a day".
The Popular Party assures that "many transporters" have expressed this complaint, so it considers that the Cabildo "must take them into account" and study whether it is technically possible to enable a detour to access this area. "If it is feasible, we understand that the first Corporation must get to work and carry out its execution", insists the councilor.
